Dental & Orthodontic
If I had to sum up my business with one word it would be “compassion”. Compassion for self, compassion for the environment and compassion for others. While this is perhaps not the first thing people think of when they think about the dentist, it is actually the most important aspect of our job. Dental phobias are extremely common, but patients feel at ease when they see us. I think that’s because I have dental anxiety myself. When I was two I had an accident on a seesaw and hurt my mouth and there began decades of dental work, surgery and braces so I know how my patients are feeling. My little dog Chloe comes to work with me every day and helps keep my patients calm and at ease, even sitting on the dental chair with patients if they need it.
My other passion is environmental sustainability. We recycle, compost, reduce our waste wherever possible, and have cut down our use of electricity and water. We are the lower north shore’s drop off point for Terracycle, a fantastic initiative whereby oral health waste such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and packaging is upcycled into other goods, such as watering cans and pencil cases. Everyone is welcome at the practice Monday-Saturday to drop off their oral health waste with us. We also offer a free JP service.
