The Halloween decorations have just gone away but the Christmas light season will soon be in full flow. The jewel in the crown of the Lower North Shore is Prince Albert Street in Mosman. Residents put on a dazzling display against the wonderful harbour vistas and there is usually a street party in mid-December.

Christmas Lights Spectacular, Hunter Valley Gardens, now – Jan 26.
Over three million lights illuminate the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens for their Christmas Spectacular. Popular kids entertainment group Little Scallywagz will be returning this year with their Rock’n Elfy’s show to share the Christmas cheer, alongside the events’ most-loved magicians and entertainers. Guest can also enjoy a ‘White Christmas” with white treetops, a snow cave and arctic animals, light tunnels with hundreds of lights as you wander through, ‘Around the World’ with the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Centre Point Tower, London Big Ben and Edinburgh Castle. There’s also inflatable zones, jumping castles and thrill-seeking rides. Fan favourites include the majestic Venetian Carousel, a Ferris Wheel which gives you a beautiful view of the gardens from above, the classic Swing Chair and a 35 metre Superslide to top off the fun. Plus there’s food and beverage stalls, roaming entertainment including carollers (until Boxing Day). The Gardens giant Walk-Through Bauble will be back, as big and bright as ever, as well as the all-time favourites of Princess Castle, Fairyland and Candyland.
