Earning rave reviews from North Sydney Living members, Henrys at Neutral Bay is one to try for Peruvian-Japanese fusion, along with Bottomless Lunches, Taco nights and more…

Tucked away in the heart of Neutral Bay is an elegant Nikkei (or Peruvian-Japanese fusion) restaurant called Henrys. Many will already know of this absolute gem, which Lower North Shore local Sam Ha and her husband opened in 2020.

The pair fell in love with the beautiful location (formerly home to Woodland Kitchen and Bar) and despite coming from corporate backgrounds, eagerly embraced the restaurant “as a medium to create meaningful connections.”

“We see Henrys Neutral Bay as a place where people can enjoy a great dining experience without having to feel that they have to overextend themselves,” says Sam.

“We strive to provide our guests with great service, delicious food that is prepared and presented with attention yet is friendly and approachable. We think that fits really well with Neutral Bay and surrounding suburbs.”

Leading the kitchen is head chef Som Katoozi whose focus on fresh ingredients, precise cooking and beautiful plating has won the hearts of diners in Neutral Bay and beyond.

“His experience working in fine dining and his Persian heritage adds so many flavours to our contemporary menu,” says Sam.

The menu is designed to share, featuring small plates, premium grilled proteins, garden goodness and exquisite cocktails. Som showcases the very best of Nikkei cuisine with crowd favourites including:

  • House made grilled focaccia with honey miso butter
  • Crispy prawn tacos with habanero mayo, shredded cabbage, Spanish onions and coriander
  • Salmon ceviche with avocado mousse, orange gel, roe, taro crisps and coriander
  • Lamb rump cap with cauliflower puree, furikake, chimichurri and Japanese jus
  • Humpty Doo barramundi with bread cream, pickled radish, crispy quinoa and herb oil
  • Fried cauliflower salad with honey sesame dressing, pink ginger and crispy shallotshenryshenrys

Henrys knows the secret to Sydney foodies’ hearts – bottomless lunches. The team offers a brilliant boozy lunch for $79 every Friday and Saturday with bottomless prosecco or mimosas, or the option to add beer and cocktails for an extra $10. Throughout the two-hour lunch, guests are spoiled with a five-course feast of signature dishes including the focaccia, crispy prawn tacos, rump steak and fried potatoes.

Then there’s Henrys $5 taco Wednesdays, which are perfect for those midweek catch-ups, while complementary BYO Tuesdays are ideal for a romantic date night. The team is also excited to have launched new lunch specials with a selection of burgers, wings and fries.

“We want Henrys to be a place that residents of Neutral Bay, Mosman and surrounding areas can come in and enjoy a great time any given day of the week, be it a special occasion, a casual dinner or a quick lunch, where they can enjoy great food, great wines and a time to connect,” says Sam.
