It’s so wonderful to see some Christmas festivities popping up despite the year that’s been. If you want to get into the holiday spirit here are some nearby events for yuletide fun – and we’ll keep adding to the list…
Pop Up Christmas Joy, North Sydney
Courtesy of North Sydney Council, several village centres across North Sydney will soon be enjoying unique pop-up Christmas experiences to help boost festive cheer within the community after a challenging 2020.
The pop-ups will feature a mixture of music performances, roving elves, chalk art and ice-cream giveaways at Kirribilli, Neutral Bay, Cremorne, Crows Nest, McMahons Point Cammeray and Waverton.
North Sydney Mayor Jilly Gibson says each village experience is intended to help spread Christmas joy without residents having to travel far from home.
“To keep our community safe during COVID-19, we are moving away from large scale events towards smaller Christmas themed surprise performances. These pop-ups will be a delightful way to lift spirits and get people into the festive season.
“Christmas is a perfect opportunity to spread Christmas cheer by supporting our hard-working small businesses. Visit your local shops first when looking for a gift – you’ll not only be helping the local economy but giving back to our beloved community.”
North Sydney and village centres have also been decorated with Christmas trees, lights, baubles and wreathes. The pop-up experiences will take place within the villages from 1 to 18 December at undisclosed times to prevent crowding and maintain COVID-safe guidelines.
