COVID-19 may have put a spanner in the works of the hospitality industry but Mosman is fighting back with three new restaurant openings that will make dining out more fun. Here’s where you can go for your next foodie adventure

It’s unfortunate that many restaurants have had to close their doors due to the financial strain and impact of the pandemic. But after some of the shakiest months in recent history, we have a glimmer of hope from these new local businesses popping up in the area.

The Raglan, which opened its doors to Mosman at the beginning of November, prides itself on giving guests a premium dining experience using premium ingredients. Its philosophy since the very beginning has been to “refine local ingredients with innovative gastronomy to bring out a revival of Australian cuisine”.

You can visit The Raglan for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Expect dishes such as The Raglan’s crab meat egg benedict or chef’s special French omelette to entice your mornings or the restaurant’s special salad made with heirloom beetroot, prawn burger for a later meal.

At dinner, your options include bluefin tuna done two ways, pan-seared spiced quail, seafood linguine, lamb rack and so much more. Check out its full food menu and wine list here.

Nourish bar Cali Press launched its first North Shore flagship on October 1, in the heart of Mosman on Military Road. If you haven’t been there yet, be sure to check out the off-duty health haunt for Eastern Suburbs celebs including Pip Edwards and Tash Oakley.

Cali Press may have grown up since its early days as a Bondi Beach juicery, but it continues to draw parallels between delicious food and a clean and balanced diet, inspired by the Californian way of life.

The cafe has also picked up the expertise of serial food entrepreneur, Phillip Blanco who brings a passion for food and strong local knowledge to Cali Press’s first foray into the North Shore.

Its menu features popular items like  ‘The Godfather’ with ‘Pacino mylk’, espresso shot, banana, vanilla bean, cinnamon, dates, almond butter and the signature ‘Berry collagen’ smoothie with real vegan collagen, the ultimate beauty tonic to rejuvenate skin. The veggie-packed ‘Macro bowl’ is also a hit on the healthy bowl menu.

France in Mosman. Image: L’Heritage

You’re about to say ‘bienvenue’ to a new French Bistro dining destination, L’Héritage, opening mid-December in the spectacular Chowder Bay,  brought to you by the same team as popular Frenchy’s cafe.

The restaurant is situated in a historic building overlooking Clifton Gardens and Sydney Harbour which means you will soon be indulging in classic French home-cooked meals and local and French wines with a beautiful view. The bistro will be open seven days a week to serve you breakfast, lunch, dinners and cater to private events.

“Our menu is my personal interpretation of the meals I love to eat when I’m out in the local bistros of Paris,” says Julien Audibert-Lebon, Head Chef, L’Héritage. “With recipes and knowledge handed down through the generations, French cooking is my passion.”

Breakfast options include fresh interpretations of French classics like Croissant Benedict. The lunch and dinner menu will transport you straight to the heart of Paris with dishes such as chicken liver pâté, escargots (snails) and salmon rillettes. Mains include Canard à l’orange (duck with orange duck jus), Entrecote frites (scotch fillet with chips), Bouillabaisse (seafood stew) and Poisson du jour (fish of the day).

Last but not least, their French desserts will likely entice your taste buds. These include Mousse au chocolat, Poire Belle Helene (poached pear with Chantilly cream and Belgian chocolate sauce) and a selection of house-made gelato. Cheese lovers can enjoy a fine selection of imported French cheeses along with their French wine.
